Terrace British Columbia

Originally called Eby's Landing, Terrace began in 1901 as a telegraph station on the Dominion Telegraph Line.

In 1905, Terrace was a port of call for sternwheeler's plying the Skeena River, establishing the town's important role in future transportation in the Skeena River Valley.

Terrace is located at the geographic center of Northwestern BC making the City the natural transportation hub for highway, rail and air.

Terrace is the home of the Kermode Bear "Spirit Bear".

Legislation to make the B.C. Spirit Bear the official provincial mammal emblem of British Columbia was introduced April 4 2006 by Premier Gordon Campbell, fulfilling a commitment made in this year’s throne speech.
